Meet the Partners

The Center for Nanosciences and Biomedical Research (CINBIO) represents a commitment of the University of Vigo (NW Spain) to develop the biomedical and biotechnological field with a differential element: its multidisciplinarity. CINBIO hosts researchers of the highest level in several disciplines: medicine, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computer science.

Our Phylogenomics group at CINBIO is focused on the evolution of genomes, cells, populations, and species, combining concepts and tools from biology, statistics, and computer science. Two postdoctoral researchers from this research group, Nuria Estévez, João Alves, and PI David Posada, are directly involved in the 3DSecret project. We are experts in the study of cancer evolution through the lens of single-cell genomics. We have ample experience in the genomics of tumour tissues and individual cancer cells, including circulating tumour cells (CTCs), from data production to bioinformatic analysis and biological interpretation.

In 3DSecret, we will analyze the genome and transcriptome of cell spheroids derived from single CTCs. Nuria will be in charge of DNA and RNA isolation and sequencing, while João will carry out the bioinformatic analysis of the sequencing data. David will manage and supervise the whole process.
