Advancing Microfluidics: INL at i3S BioEngineering Hub

Miguel Xavier, part of the INL research team, participated in the i3S BioEngineering Hub event, following an invitation from Estrela Neto of i3S.

In the scientific programme, Miguel delivered a talk entitled “A Microfluidics Enthusiast and Bioengineer”, in the same session as Vânia Silvério from INESC-MN. The presentation focused on the role of microfluidics in advancing biomedical research and its integration with engineering approaches.

Later in the event, Miguel joined a round table discussion as a panel member, where participants explored the future of microfluidics in clinical practice. His contributions underlined the importance of bridging research and real-world applications in healthcare.

This participation also reinforced the visibility of the 3DSecret project, which is developing advanced microfluidic and single-cell technologies to improve understanding of cancer metastasis and support precision health.
