3DSecret at INL Open Day 2025: Unlocking the Secrets of Cancer Cells with Microfluidics
The 3DSecret project was proud to participate in the INL Open Day 2025, where we had the opportunity to share our latest advances in cancer research with a broad and curious audience.
Throughout the day, our team introduced visitors to the power of microfluidic platforms - innovative lab-on-a-chip systems that are transforming how we isolate, analyse, and understand cancer cells in three dimensions. By controlling fluid dynamics at a cellular level, microfluidics allows us to isolate rare cancer cells from complex biological samples with high sensitivity and specificity.
Cell isolation is a foundational step that supports one of the broader goals of 3DSecret: to replicate the body’s microenvironment and study cancer cells in conditions that more closely reflect human physiology.
From students to science enthusiasts of all ages, attendees engaged directly with our demonstrations. Beyond showcasing technology, this day was a powerful reminder of why science communication matters. It allowed us to connect with the public, raise awareness about our mission, and inspire the next generation of researchers.
Together, we’re pushing the boundaries of knowledge—towards a future where cancer is better understood and more effectively treated.
