3DSecret Project Highlighted at Gordon Research Conference on Microfluidics

Researchers from INL involved in the 3DSecret project played prominent roles at the 2025 Gordon Research Conference (GRC) and Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) on Physics & Chemistry of Microfluidics, held in Italy, June 1-6. Their active participation brought strong visibility to the project within one of the most prestigious international meetings in the field.

Miguel’s Leadership and Scientific Contribution

Miguel Xavier presented the poster “3DSecret: The Power of One,” sharing project progress with leading experts in microfluidics. He also served as Chair of the GRS, underlining his leadership in the community. Looking ahead, he has been elected Vice-Chair of the GRC in 2027 and will take on the role of Chair of the GRC in 2029, a recognition of his growing influence in the field.

Sara’s Active Participation

Sara Abalde-Cela played an important role in the scientific programme. She was a Discussion Leader in the GRS session “Diagnosing Complex States of Disease on a Microchip” and participated as a Panellist in the round-table “How Diversifying Fields Can Slow You Down to Then Speed You Up”.Sara Abalde-Cela, at the main GRC, also served as Discussion Leader in the session “Microfluidics for Point-of-Care and Precision Health”.

3DSecret Project Visibility

The Gordon Research Conferences provide an exclusive forum for presenting cutting-edge science and fostering collaborations. The active involvement of Miguel and Sara offered an important opportunity to raise the profile of the 3DSecret project within the international microfluidics community, strengthening the project’s position in advancing new technologies for precision health.
